Mario Fernandes was suspected to have sustained a jaw fracture in the match with Italy’s Roma FC
MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. CSKA Moscow FC defender Mario Fernandes avoided fracturing his jaw in the fourth-round groups stage match of the UEFA Champions League against Italy’s FC Roma, the footballer’s agent Jorge Machado told TASS on Thursday.
On Wednesday, CSKA lost 1-2 to Roma FC. Fernandes left the field during the 12th minute because of a sustained injury. After the match, CSKA chief coach Viktor Goncharenko said that Fernandes is suspected to have had his jaw fractured.
“A jaw fracture was not confirmed. Mario Fernandes was diagnosed with a concussion. There is currently no available information on how long it will take him to recover,” Mendes said.
