The British catwalk beauty, Naomi Campbell, was violently assaulted and robbed by two thieves while hailing a taxi in the French capital in December. Her leg was injured during the incident.
There is no accurate information about what the thugs stole, but it’s believed the model was targeted for the expensive jewellery she was wearing.
According to the New York Post source, “Naomi believes the assailants had been watching her, casing her out, and waited for a moment to strike when she was alone. She was attacked on the street as she hailed a cab, and robbed”.
“Her leg was injured as she was violently pushed to the ground. She was understandably very upset and shaken up”. The supermodel tore a ligament during the assault.
Her Russian boyfriend, billionaire Vladimir Doronin, came to Paris straight away after the incident and took her by private jet to one of the top orthopaedic surgeons in world. The Steadman Clinic in Colorado, where Campbell was examined, has treated many world-famous athletes.
Though the incident happened at least a month ago, Naomi has kept silent about the assault at the request of French police.
Naomi has not spoken directly to the press about the mugging or the progress of the investigation. The New York Post quotes her as saying, “I am sorry, I do not talk to press, but I am fine”.
The paper adds that the supermodel has been upbeat since the attack despite having to use a wheelchair or crutches. She celebrated New Year in style at her house on Miami Star Island, Florida, and found time to publish messages on Twitter. Right now Naomi is preparing for the launch of her new TV show named “The Face”.
