Syrian military aircraft carried out fresh raids Thursday on the outskirts of the Bekaa border town of Arsal.
“A Syrian helicopter launched two strikes on the Khirbet Daoud area in Arsal’s outskirts,” state-run National News Agency reported.
On Wednesday, Syrian warplanes staged two raids on the al-Maslaha area, also on Arsal’s edges.
The town’s peripheries have come under frequent Syrian raids in recent months. Damascus says the airstrikes are targeting “terrorists” fleeing the Syrian region of Qalamoun.
Ever since the Syrian revolt erupted in March 2011, Arsal has become a key conduit for refugees and wounded people fleeing strife-torn Syria.
