Russia warns of humanitarian disaster in eastern Ukraine

Russia’s Foreign Ministry on Monday warned that towns in eastern Ukraine encircled by Ukrainian troops were facing a humanitarian disaster with shortages of medicine and food. “A humanitarian disaster is brewing in the encircled towns – there is already a lack of medicine and there are starting to be disruptions of food supplies,” the ministry said in a statement.

“The so called authorities in Kiev are persistently continuing the war against their own people,” the ministry said in a statement.

The Russian Foreign Ministry highlights the fact that the Ukrainian troops, special forces and the Right Sector ultra-nationalist movement continue their “criminal” operation in eastern Ukraine, forcing the residents to submit to those who promote nationalism.
