Though Anne Hathaway admits to being “inconsolable” when she chopped off all her hair for Les Misérables, she’s clearly taken to the style since, rocking the same sideswept short cut for a few years now.
That’s why, when we spotted her on the set of The Intern, we had to do a double-take — it’s been so long since we’ve seen her with her Devil Wears Prada-length hair. Her new “do” is a shoulder-grazing, side-parted look that closely resembles her former hairstyle, which many of us loved to the point of bringing photos to the salon for a “copy cut.” But of course, it’s just a wig for the film, in which she plays a fashion website director that oversees a retiree-turned-intern played by Robert DeNiro (per The Hollywood Reporter).
Don’t get used to the longer do, though: Hathaway told Vogue she’s committed to her pixie. “I love the short-haired lifestyle,” Hathaway said. “I’m turning 30, and — I hope this isn’t obnoxious to say — I feel prettier, and much more myself. I guess I just feel much more satisfied with less now.” She’s been experimenting with fun ways to wear it and even playing with her style, going for an edgier look than before.
