P5+1 and Iran to hold talks in Vienna – Churkin

New round P5+1 and Iran talks over its nuclear program will be held July 2-15 in Vienna, said Russia’s permanent representative in the UN Vitaly Churkin. “The parties have started to work directly on the text of the future agreement, which will continue into the next round of negotiations in Vienna on July 2-15,” Churkin said at the meeting of the UN Security Council on Wednesday.

According to Churkin, the last round of talks, which also took place in Vienna on 16-20 June, “was helpful, confirmed the general intention to continue constructive engagement and detailed discussions.”

“For our part, we will continue to do everything we can for the final closure of the complex issues related to Iran’s nuclear program, with Tehran and removal of sanctions,” said Churkin.

The 5+1 on Iran consists of representatives of the five countries which are permanent members of the UN Security Council – Russia, USA, China, France and Britain, plus Germany.
