Alert in three western states of Mexico because of tropical storm “Elida”

Alert has been declared in the west of Mexico on the territory of Colima, Michoacan and Jalisco states because of the tropical storm “Elida.” As the representatives of the National System of Civil Defense (NSCD) reported on Tuesday, the cyclone will provoke winds with gusts up to 95 km/h and rainfall, reports TASS.

Currently, the epicenter of the storm is located 185 km miles south of the resort town of Manzanillo (Colima state). NSCD forecasts that in the near future the cyclone will cause intense rainfall on the territory of western and central regions of Mexico, which may lead to flooding and mudslides.

In mid-September last year, Mexico was hit by hurricanes “Ingrid” and “Manuel”, which simultaneously moved into the country from the east and west. Then the disaster killed about 157 people.
