Richard Kiel, the 218-centimetre actor who played Jaws, the James Bond villain with the teeth of steel, has died, age 74.
Kiel broke his leg last week and was admitted to hospital, but it is unclear whether his death is related to the injury.
Kiel starred in dozens of movies spanning 50 years, but his most notable character, Jaws, appeared in the 1977 James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me. He returned to star in Moonraker two years later.
He also played Mr Larson in the 1996 film Happy Gilmore alongside Adam Sandler, and coined what was arguably his most famous line after Shooter McGavin hit the ball onto his foot: “And you can count, on me, waiting for you in the parking lot.”
Born in Detroit, Kiel also played the bad guy in such TV shows as The Man from U.N.C.L.E, The WIld Wild West and Kolchak: The Night Stalker.
