Mohamed Larbi’s double secured a 2-1 victory for Gazelec Ajaccio that could spell the end of Hubert Fournier’s managerial reign at Lyon.

The match went to form as Lyon suffered a fifth defeat in their last six Ligue 1 games, while the hosts are now unbeaten in nine and sit only two points below their opponents.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed in midweek that the club would assess the situation during the winter break and this result could prove the final straw.

Larbi struck in both halves and, although Clement Grenier quickly pulled one back, it was not enough.

Bordeaux and Marseille took a share of the spoils in the final Ligue 1 game before the festive break with a 1-1 draw at the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux.

After a goalless first half, OM took the lead early in the second when Alaixys Romao headed home Abdelaziz Barrada’s corner.

The visitors’ advantage lasted a matter of minutes, though, after Wahbi Khazri linked up well with Enzo Crivelli and Bordeaux were a whisker away from stealing all three points in stoppage time when Diego Rolan hit the bar.

Benjamin Corgnet’s first goal of the season was enough to bring an end to St Etienne’s recent winless streak with a slender 1-0 defeat of high-flying Angers.

The visitors’ failure to clear their lines just after the hour mark allowed Corgnet the time to accurately steer the ball into the top corner for what proved to be the only goal of the game.

On Saturday, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s stunning strike helped Paris St Germain make it five straight wins in all competitions with a comfortable 3-0 victory at fourth-placed Caen.

Angel Di Maria’s 16th-minute opener and a Ibrahimovic’s first-time volley from the edge of the area handed the champions a commanding lead at the break.

Di Maria added his second early in the second half as PSG strengthened the position at the top of the Ligue 1 table.

Monaco failed to make the most of their man advantage in second as they were held to a goalless draw away to bottom side Troyes, who had Mouhamadou Dabo sent off after just three minutes.

The Red and Whites now sit a massive 19 points behind leaders PSG and just one ahead of third-placed Angers.

Floyd Ayite netted an opener against his old club as Bastia returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Reims at Stade Armand Cesari.

Ayite broke the deadlock after 21 minutes, picking up Seko Fofana’s cross on a break and slotting into the bottom corner for his third goal of the season, while Julien Romain doubled the home side’s lead, sending Brandao’s header home with 10 minutes remaining.

Sofiane Boufal struck a late equaliser as mid-table Lille stole a point from a 1-1 draw with 10-man Toulouse at Stadium Municipal.

Wissam Ben Yedder got the hosts off to a flying start as he slotted William Matheus’ cross into the top corner from close range but they lost Tongo Doumbia to a second yellow card midway through the second half and Lille capitalised on their advantage as Sebastien Corchia set up Boufal to fire in late on.

Rennes ended a five-match winless streak in the league with a 2-0 victory at Guingamp thanks to goals from Ousmane Dembele and Giovanni Sio, while the clash between Lorient and Nantes finished goalless at Stade du Moustoir.

Friday evening’s match saw Nice claim a 1-0 verdict over Montpellier, Oliver Boscagli scoring the only goal of the game just after the half-hour mark.
