Former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg upped the buzz-factor on a potential presidential run Monday.
He confirmed to the Financial Times that he is “looking at all options” when it came to a 2016 White House bid.
“I find the level of discourse and discussion distressingly banal and an outrage and an insult to the voters,” he said, adding that the American public deserved “a lot better.”
The New York Timesreported last month that the media mogul had asked his advisers to draw up plans for a potential run as an independent candidate.
Bloomberg told FT that he would have to make a decision by March.
If he does decide to run, many analysts have said, it could turn the race on its head. More than Donald Trump already has.
