Multiple explosions hit a southern district of Damascus on Sunday, state television and witnesses said.
According to a source, the blasts hit al-Tin street in Sayeda Zeinab.
“Two to four explosions rocked southern quarter of Sayyid Zeinab. There are victims among the civilian population,” the police source told RIA Novosti.
The source added that the number of casualties was being specified, while emergency paramedics were working at the scene cordoned off by police.
At least 30 people were killed in a series of suicide attacks and a car bomb explosion, with dozens more wounded, in the Syrian capital of Damascus’ Shiite neighborhood, according to a source in the militia.
“At least 30 dead, dozens wounded,” the unnamed source said, noting that the death toll may rise as recovery efforts in Sayyidah Zaynab were underway.
