Plane With 23 on Board Crashes Over Himalayas in Nepal


A small plane with 23 people on board, including two minors and three crew members, crashed in the mountainous area in western Nepal on Wednesday, local law enforcement said.

The aircraft took off earlier in the day for an 18-minute flight, but has gone missing in the Myagdi district, Senior Superintendent of Nepal Police Mahendra Pokharel said, as quoted by The Himalayan Times.

A search and rescue mission involving security staff and military aircraft was launched near the small settlement of Ramche, where searchers spotted a fire, according to the police official.

Causes of the crash are currently being investigated, he added.
