“I was raised on healthy conflict and welcome it. And like any family, we get better from it”
Earlier this week, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson bashed some of his male co-stars on the set of Fast 8, calling them unprofessional “candy a–es” in a now-viral Instagram post.
“My female co-stars are always amazing and I love ’em. My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t,” Johnson said, without naming exactly who his beef was with. (Although reports speculated that it was targeted at Vin Diesel).
In another Instagram video posted on Wednesday, Johnson wasn’t backing down from his comments. The action star thanked the stunt team who assisted him in performing the “prison scene of all prison scenes,” saying “there’s no greatness ever achieved alone.. it’s always a team effort.”
He then seemed to reference the squabble that has embroiled the Fast and the Furious franchise this week: “To me, conflict can be a good thing, when its followed by great resolution. I was raised on healthy conflict and welcome it. And like any family, we get better from it.”
Whether all is right again in the Fast 8 family is still unclear, but Johnson did end the post hinting that the cast may have found their “great resolution.”
“At the end of the day me and #F8 co-stars all agree on the most important thing: Delivering an incredible movie to the world.”
The eighth installment of the Fast and Furious stars Michelle Rodriguez, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren and Scott Eastwood, and is due to hit theaters on April 14.
