Jihadi groups in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo announced a new full-scale offensive against government troops in Al-Zahraa district in the city’s west.

The attack was initiated with jihadists heavily shelling the area with artillery, tanks and homegrown Hell canons. This was followed by sending a remote-controlled VBIED which aimed at destroying the Army’s defense lines.

However, a military source confirmed that the booby-trapped vehicle was prematurely destroyed before reaching its target.

Pro-rebel social media accounts claimed that jihadists were capable of seizing a small area, nearly the water storage facility and Mahna housing.
