Tiger Forces redeploy to Hama to stop jihadist offensive

Al-Masdar News was informed on Wednesday morning that several units from the Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” have redeployed to the Hama Governorate after the jihadist rebels seized several villages from the government forces near the key town of Mhardeh.

These reinforcements from the Tiger Forces were originally deployed in several areas around the country, including the Al-Sha’er Mountains (east Homs) and southern Aleppo.

A significant number of soldiers from the  Tiger Forces will remain in southern Aleppo to help drive back Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest); however, the shortage in manpower inside northern Hama requires much needed reinforcements to aid the 11th Tank Division.

The Tiger Forces are no stranger to the northern Hama front; in fact, it was their offensive in mid-2014 that helped the government drive back the Jabhat Al-Nusra militants from the outskirts of Hama City.
