Donald Trump flew to Mexico to meet with its president, Enrique Peña Nieto. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton “met with” Jimmy Buffett, Jon Bon Jovi and Paul McCartney.
Yeah, another posh fundraiser. Go figure.
And, if you’re keeping score at home, it’s now been 274 days since Hillary has done a press conference. But, hey, as reported by The New York Times, she raked in $50 million at 22 fundraising events during the last two weeks of August. Priorities, folks, priorities.
One of Hillary’s well-heeled donors, Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild, said at a $100,000-per-couple lamb dinner she hosted at her oceanfront Martha’s Vineyard mansion:
“I said, ‘Let’s make it a nice night for her and show her our love.’”
And by “love,” apparently Lady de Rothschild meant “money.” A lot of it.
Democrat public relations executive Ken Sunshine puts Hillary’s swanky fundraisers into ironic perspective:
“The Hamptons is full of powerful, wealthy people who are bored and go to constant social events to see who else got invited and to show your status. This year, going to a Clinton event is at the very top of the list.”
As Hillary told fast-food workers in June, she wants to “be your champion.” She just needs the deep pockets of multimillionaires and billionaires to make it happen.
