TEHRAN (FNA)- Terrorist groups’ defense and movement lines have come under heavy strikes by the Syrian ground troops and Air Force in recent days, weakening terrorists’ combat abilities to attack army’s positions and civilian regions across Northern Hama, sources said Monday.
“Army aircraft, simultaneous with artillery units, have been targeting the defense lines of Jeish al-Izzah in the village of Abluyizeh,” the sources said, adding, “The warplanes also hit the gatherings and movements of Jeish al-Izzah in areas surrounding the towns of al-Lahaya, al-Latamina and their movement lines to weaken the group’s strength and prevent the militants’ attack on army positions and safe zones in villages in the region.”
“In the meantime, the fighter jets bombed heavily the gatherings of Jeish al-Nasr terrorists in al-Latamina, killing several terrorist, including commander Hamza Zawadeh and field commander of Jeish al-Nasr-Free Syrian Army, Kheiru Mashhal,’ the sources said.
“In the meantime, a unit of the army and armed forces fended off attacks of the terrorist in Northern Hama, destroying a number of their vehicles and seizing an armored vehicle equipped with landmine planting system,” the sources added.
Reports said earlier today that the Syrian Army troops as well as the country’s fighter jets continued liberation operation of the town of Taybat al-Imam, inflicting major damage on the militants’ equipment and vehicles.
Army soldiers continued to hit terrorists’ positions in Northern Hama to free Taybat al-Imam, while warplanes bombed heavily the positions and movements of Takfiri terrorists in the towns and villages of Halfaya, al-Latamina, Taybat al-Imam, al-Lahaya, al-Zalaqiyat, al-Masaseneh, Tal (Hill) al-Mantar, Zowar al-Hiseh in Northern Hama, destroying militants’ bases and tanks and killing and wounding tens of them.
A field sources said that after the terrorists’ surprise attack a couple of days ago that ended up in the capture of several positions, the army men launched an intensive campaign and seized back lost lands in a matter of hours, but they didn’t stop and still continue their operation in Northern Hama.
“Hama operation will be pursued without any pause in the liberation the Northern regions,” the source said.
