Hollywood duo Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are reuniting, yet again. The pair, who starred in La La Land, Gangster Squad, and Crazy, Stupid, Love, just wrapped The Favourite in the UK.
However, Gosling won’t appear in the film. Set to premiere in 2018, the film is being produced by Gosling’s new production company Arcadia.
Gosling started the business with The Nice Guys producer Ken Kao (Gosling starred in the film). It will develop a range of material for both film and television.
The Favourite will be the company’s first endeavour, and stars Stone, Rachel Weisz and Olivia Colman. Yorgos Lanthimos (The Lobster) will direct the project.
The film is about the well-liked Queen Anne (Colman), the last monarch in the house of Stuarts and follows the political machinations of her reign.
Gosling and Stone were both nominated for Academy Awards last year – Stone won for Best Actress.
The company recently announced the acquisition of Jeff Lemire’s popular graphic novel The Underwater Welder, which has begun development.
Gosling’s next film, Blade Runner 2049, which stars Harrison Ford, will premiere in October.
In the meantime, Kao will continue running Waypoint Entertainment production banner and BLOOM.
