Turkey’s annual inflation eases to 10.9 percent in June

Turkey’s annual consumer price inflation eased to 10.9 percent in June from 11.72 percent in the previous month, official data showed on July 3. 

Consumer prices fell by 0.27 percent in June 2017 from May, data from the Turkish Statistics Institute (TÜİK) showed. 

The highest monthly increase was 1.05 percent in education while the highest monthly decrease was 1.25 percent in clothing and footwear, according to TÜİK data.

The highest annual increase was 21.7 percent in alcoholic beverages and tobacco followed by food and non-alcoholic beverages with 14.3 percent and transportation with 14.07 percent.
