YEREVAN, August 31. /ARKA/. Armenia’s economic growth in the second quarter of 2018 amounted to 7.2%, according to numbers, released by the National Statistical Committee. It said the GDP in the second quarter was worth 1.358.4 trillion drams or about $2.8 billion (the exchange rate of one USD in the second quarter of 2018 was 482.69 drams).
According to the National Statistical Committee, GDP growth in the first quarter was 9.6%. As a result, in the first half of 2018, Armenia’s economic growth was about 8.4%.
According to the NSC, economic growth in the second quarter was driven by 1.3% growth in energy sector, 4.3% growth in trade and services, 0.5% growth in construction and 0.8% growth in agriculture.
Per capita GDP in the second quarter was 457,399 drams ($948), while in the first quarter it was 374,394 drams ($778). The government’s projection of GDP growth for 2018 is 4.5%. –0–
