A single bottle of whisky has set a world-record price at auction in Edinburgh, selling for an eye-watering £848,000. The Macallan Valerio Adami 1926 was described as the “Holy Grail” of whisky because of its age, rarity and the unique artwork on the label.

Police are on the hunt for a group of teens who smashed a stolen van through the front windows of a Colorado cannabis dispensary before making off with what they thought were pre-rolled marijuana joints. The owners of shop explained that they use oregano to simulate the cannabis in all of their shop display items.

Penguin shortage leads to plastic stand-ins at zoo

A UK zoo has been forced to use plastic models in place of real animals, after a shortage of Humbolt penguins left the facility’s new £60,000 enclosure looking bare. The penguins are a protected species and cannot be collected from the wild, and the 2016 outbreak of avian flu all but wiped out the available breeding stock.
