Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, JICA, eBay interested in deepening cooperation with Armenia

The Armenian Government is interested in cooperating with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Company, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a meeting with the company’s board member Christina Ahmadjian on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The Prime Minister said the government aims to turn the political revolution in the country into economic one and added that big and real changes are expected for that purpose.

Nikol Pashinyan stressed that Armenia has a huge potential for technological development and added that the cooperation with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries could be promising in this regard.

Christina Ahmadjian attached importance of the processes taking place in Armenia in terms of attracting new programs and expressed willingness to help the Armenian government establish ties with different Japanese companies. She is going to visit Armenia in the near future to discuss further cooperation.

Nikol Pahsinyan also discussed the programs the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is implementing in Armenia. At a meeting with the Agency’s President Shinichi Kitaoka the Prime Minister discussed the perspectives of deepening the bilateral cooperation.

Mr. Kitaoka noted that all programs will be continuous and added that a JICA expert group will visit Armenia in the near future to discuss the perspectives and directions of cooperation.

At a meeting with eBay Vice-President Cathy Foster PM Nikol Pashinyan attached importance to the company’s e-commerce services, noting that they comply with the ongoing technological transformation.

The Prime Minister added that eBay’s services are of great demand in Armenia and emphasized the need to expand the scope of its activity in the country.

Cathy Foster expressed willingness to visit Armenia to discuss the perspectives of future investment programs.
