YEREVAN, March 7. /ARKA/. The World Bank is preparing the Country’s Partnership Framework strategic document that defines the cooperation priorities for the next four years with Armenia, World Bank Country Manager for Armenia Sylvie Bossoutrot said today during a meeting with President Armen Sarkissian.
According to the presidential press service, the document will be based on three main aspects: export and competitiveness promotion, development of human capital, as well as environmental protection and resource management.
Sarkissian was quoted as saying that cooperation with international financial institutions is very important for Armenia. According to the president, economic growth, stable and rapid development are the main tools for overcoming poverty. He said the projects implemented jointly with the WB should be aimed at solving the existing problems with the help of these tools.
Stressing the importance of developing high technologies, education and science, Sarkissian said that in this context his efforts are aimed at stimulating high technologies and innovations, and there is great potential for effective cooperation in this issue.
