IMF predicts 4.6 percent growth for Armenia in 2019

YEREVAN, April 12. / ARKA /. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) predicts in its latest report ‘Growth Slowdown, Precarious Recovery (World Economic Outlook) that Armenia’s economy in 2019 will grow by 4.6%. Inflation is expected to be 2.1%.

In 2018, economic growth in Armenia was 5% and inflation 2.5%. The Armenian government’s growth projection for 2019 is 4.9%; the inflation rate projection is 2.7%.

Overall, the average economic growth in the CIS countries in 2019 is projected to be around 2.2%. In particular, Turkmenistan’s GDP is expected to grow by 6.3%, Uzbekistan’s – by 5%, Tajikistan’s – by 5%, Georgia’s – by 4.6%, Kyrgyzstan’s – by 3.8%, Moldova’s – by 3.5%, Azerbaijan’s – by 3 4%, Kazakhstan’s by – 3.2%, Ukraine’s – by 2.7%, Belarus’ – by 1.8% and Russia’s – by 1.6%.
