Ahead of the Meeting of Defense Ministers in June, the Chiefs of Defense and invitee North Macedonia met to discuss NATO’s new Military Strategy, Supreme Allied Commander’s Area of Responsibility and the development of the Alliance’s deterrence and defense posture.
On the 181st Military Committee in Chiefs of Defense Session, the discussion focused on the key strategic issues facing the Alliance, after which the new Military Strategy was signed-an important step in adapting the Alliance for the security challenges.
After a briefing on the current security situation in and around Ukraine and the ongoing challenges emanating from the Black Sea region, discussions focused on capacity building in the Middle East and North Africa region.
