Three Turkish Soldiers Killed in Clashes with PKK

ERBIL — The Turkish armed forces clashed with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) fighters on Sunday in south of the country, during which at least three Turkish troops were killed.

According to an official statement by the Turkish interior ministry, the clash erupted in rural areas of Hakkari province, where Turkish gendarmerie forces and Turkish armed forces were leading a military operation against the PKK.

The statement claimed that the Turkish troops had “neutralized” three PKK fighters, a claim which is yet to be commented on by the Kurdish group.

Turkish government often uses the term “neutralize” to avoid revealing if the PKK fighters were killed or arrested.
