Yerevan / 18.12.19 / Turan: Russia’s refusal from military-technical cooperation with Azerbaijan will negatively affect the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, stated on Wednesday in Yerevan the head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Council of the Federation of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev.
According to him, Russia cooperates with Armenia and Azerbaijan in the military-technical sphere “on different conditions”. Yerevan is a partner and ally of Russia in the CSTO; it is a defense alliance. There are no such relations with Azerbaijan of Russia; therefore, the terms of delivery are different.
The refusal of Russia and Belarus to sell weapons to Azerbaijan would lead to the fact that Azerbaijan began to purchase it from other manufacturers.
As for Russian deliveries, Moscow “maintains a balance of forces, which is a serious guarantee of not resuming hostilities,” RIA-Novosti quotes Kosacheva.
Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan asked the CSTO countries not to sell weapons to Azerbaijan.
