Armenian health ministry denies media reports that two hospitalized citizens of China had coronavirus


YEREVAN, January 30. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Ministry of Health has denied today media stories claiming that two citizens of China, who were hospitalized earlier n the capital Yerevan, were infected with coronavirus.

Earlier today, Liana Torosyan, a senior official of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health, said that two Chinese citizens had been recently hospitalized in Armenia with suspected coronavirus. According to her, one of the Chinese had a fever.

“We officially deny the presence of the coronavirus in these two patients. They don’t have any clinical symptoms inherent to coronavirus: fever, headache, overall weakness, cough,” the Ministry of Health said in a Facebook post. It said an X-ray examination did not reveal either pneumonia in them.

According to reports from China, the number of confirmed cases jumped over 6000 and the death toll rose to 132.
