The Turkish Interior Ministry lifted the quarantine on 177 places across 44 provinces on Sunday as the country recorded its lowest number of new coronavirus cases in the last 20 days, state-run Anadolu news agency said.

It said 162 places were still under quarantine.

Last week, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Turkey’s epidemic had begun to reach its plateau and the government was seeking to return to business as usual after the end of the holy month of Ramadan in late May.
