Armenia’s confirmed COVID-19 cases rise to 18033, nine new deaths in one day

YEREVAN, June 18. /ARKA/. As of 11:00 on Wednesday, June 17, there were 6,571 recovered COVID-19 patients in Armenia, the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention says in its daily report. In total, 18,033 confirmed COVID-19 infection cases and 302 deaths have been reported in the country. This means that 544 new infection cases, 243 recovered patients and nine deaths have been recorded since yesterday’s report.

The nine people who died yesterday were three men aged 72, 59 and 42 and six women aged 64, 69, 80, 72, 67 and 68. All of them but the 68-year-old woman had chronic diseases.

As many as 99 people infected with the coronavirus have died in the country from other diseases.

According to the report, 87,600 tests for the coronavirus have been carried out in Armenia. Some 10,818 COVID-19 patients are being treated now.

A state of emergency was declared in Armenia on March 16, 2020 to curb the spread of the coronavirus, and then extended three times. The latest decision, dated from June 12, extends the state of emergency until 17:00 July 13.
