Armenia’s foreign trade shrinks 10.7% in Jan-June 2020

YEREVAN, July 28. /ARKA/. Armenia’s foreign trade turnover, in January-June 2020 amounted to about $ 3134.2 million, which is 10.7% less than the indicator for the same period a year before, the National Statistical Committee reports.

In June 2020, compared with May 020, this indicator increased by 13.7%, and compared with June 2019, it decreased by 10.2%. In January-June 2020, the volume of foreign trade turnover in drams amounted to 3,134.2 billion drams.

Exports from Armenia totaled $ 1,108.7 million in January-June 2020, showing a 6.5% decrease, compared to the same period a year earlier. In June 2020, compared to May 2020, they increased by 14.7%, and compared to June 2019 – decreased by 0.5%. In dram equivalent, the country’s export amounted to 535.6 billion drams in January-June.

Imports for the reporting period totaled $ 2,025.5 million, down 12.9% compared to January-June 2019. In June 2020, compared to May 2020, imports grew 13.1%, and compared to June 2019, they shrank 15.2%. In dram equivalent, imports for January-June 2020 amounted to 978.5 billion drams.
