Armenian government to ease coronavirus restrictions


YEREVAN, August 13. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, who is also head of a task force set up by the government to enforce the state of emergency, declared back in March to stop the spread of coronavirus, told an extraordinary session of parliament today that the government will allow owners of private cars to drive without masks.

He added that traveling by public transport and taxis without face masks will be prohibited. In his words, the government will also allow people not to wear masks in certain outdoor public places, such as forests and parks. He said a relevant decision will be made public soon.

Avinyan said also that libraries and museums will be allowed to reopen and also outdoor concerts, performances, and other cultural events will be allowed in strict compliance with anti-epidemic rules.
