BEIRUT: After extending the general mobilization order yesterday until December 31, 2020, the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities issued modifications concerning the lockdown it has repeatedly imposed on the country.
The first modification is that the designated curfew will be from 10:00 pm until 6:00 am. Only people traveling to and from Lebanon are exempted from the curfew on condition they provide a photocopy of their ticket. Also, in the case of any emergency in which residents have to leave the house, they must call 112 to explain their reasons and take consent before leaving the house. People with health emergencies are exempted.
The second decision concerns public organizations and administrations, which will reopen their doors during their usual working hours, while every minister should make sure that at least 50% of the employees in his or her ministry are present during working hours.
As for economic sectors, they must follow a detailed four-phase preventative plan during which citizens and private business owners should wear masks covering their mouths and noses and stick to preventative health measures while abiding by social distancing measures. They must also adopt a system of compulsory reservations and appointments that vary according to the type of the institution.
The following schedule explains the new opening and closing hours of the following sectors:
The following institutions stay closed:
Indoor swimming pools and playgrounds, nightclubs, amusement parks, and kids’ zones, video game centers, theaters, indoor entertainment venues, and indoor private parties.
The sixth article states the postponing of the opening of schools and centers for people with disabilities until further notice by the Minister of Education.
All the above resolutions will become effective starting Friday 28 August 2020.
