Turkey’s destabilizing policy damages peaceful resolution of Karabakh conflict, Armenian FM says


YEREVAN, September 29. /ARKA/. On September 28, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received foreign ambassadors accredited to Armenia, the heads of international structures and organizations, the Foreign Ministry reported.

It said Minister Mnatsakanyan presented the heads of the diplomatic missions detailed information on the situation resulting from the aggression instigated by Azerbaijan along the Artsakh-Azerbaijani line of contact, the targeting civilian population and infrastructures, including the capital Stepanakert with various types of weaponry.

Minister Mnatsakanyan stressed that the military-political Leadership of Azerbaijan bear all the responsibility for the destabilization in the region.

During the meeting, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan expressed his concern over Turkey’s unconditional support to Azerbaijan, stressing that Turkey’s destabilizing policy seriously damages the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as the security and stability in the South Caucasus.

On September 27, at 07:10, Azerbaijani troops launched an offensive along the entire length of the contact line in Artsakh, but were thrown back in several directions. Intense fighting continued in the south, southeast and north of the front line.

The Azerbaijani side suffered losses in manpower (more than 700 people) and equipment, in particular, more than 70 armored vehicles, 4 helicopters, and more than 35 UAVs were destroyed. According to Armenian sources, 84 Armenian servicemen were killed while repelling the aggression of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.

Martial law was introduced in Artsakh and Armenia and general mobilization was declared.
