YEREVAN, September 30. /ARKA/. Azerbaijan, with active political and military support from Turkey, is expanding the geography of hostilities to the territory of Armenia, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote in his microblog in Twitter.
“Armenia and Artsakh will give an adequate military-political response to Azerbaijan’s attempts to undermine regional security and peace,” Pashinyan wrote.
Artsrun Hovhannisyan, a representative of Armenian Armed Forces, told reporters today that the Azerbaijani side used warplanes and unmanned aerial aircraft (UAV) to hit a civilian bus near the Armenian town of Vardenis. According to the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the bus was empty.
Hovhannisyan said later that Azerbaijani forces were shelling Armenian villages close to Vardenis.
One of the two roads connecting Armenia with Nagorno-Karabakh runs through this town. Civilians were also hit, one person died.
Earlier on Tuesday, Hovhannisyan stated that, in fact, the territory of Armenia was at gunpoint from the first minute of the Azerbaijani aggression, noting that the Armenian Armed Forces are fully combat capable and ready to fulfill their task.
