Turkish F-16 fighter downs Armenian SU-25 in Armenia’s airspace


YEREVAN, September 30. /ARKA/. A Turkish F-16 fighter shot down a SU-25 attack aircraft of the Armenian Air Force in the airspace of Armenia, the press secretary of the Armenian Defense Ministry Shushan Stepanyan said.

“Today at 10:30 am F-16 fighter belonging to the Turkish Air Force took off from the airbase in Azerbaijani Ganja to support missile and bomb strikes by Azerbaijani SU-25 fighter and Turkish-made Bayraktar UAVs on the settlements in Armenian Vardenis as well as on land units of the Armenian armed forces.

‘The Turkish jet fired on the Armenian jet, that was fulfilling a mission to support Armenian air forces. The pilot, unfortunately, died heroically. The Turkish fighter , according to tracking means, was at a depth of 60 km and an altitude of 8200 meters,“ Stepanyan wrote on her Facebook page.
