Azerbaijan hands command of its air force’s operation against Artsakh to Turkey


YEREVAN, October 1. /ARKA/. Azerbaijan has handed the command of its air force’s operation against Artsakh to the Turkish Air Force, the press secretary of the Armenian Defense Ministry Shushan Stepanyan said in a Facebook post.

She said today, two F-16 fighters of the Turkish Air Force taking off from Kurdamir, as well as the SU-25 attack aircraft of the Azerbaijani Air Force and the Bayraktar strike-reconnaissance drone flying at high altitudes, carried out missile-bomb strikes on Artsakh settlements in the Hadrut and Martuni regions.

She added that the Azerbaijani air force operates under the control of the Turkish E7-T remote air command post from the Erzerum-Kars section.

Besides, at a certain depth from the border of the Hadrut region, an UAV command post operates, which directly controls the fire of Azerbaijani aircraft strikes against Artsakh.
