Putin reiterates the need for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Karabakh conflict zone


YEREVAN, October 6. /ARKA/. On October 5, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Armenian government reported.

It said the parties discussed the latest developments in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. They noted that the aggravated armed confrontation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone has acquired a large-scale character and leads to serious losses, including among the civilian population. Vladimir Putin reiterated the need for an immediate cessation of hostilities.

According to official Armenian data, Armenian forces of Nagorno-Karabakh have destroyed 3,154 Azerbaijani soldiers since September 27 morning, when Azerbaijan launched a large-scale offensive, having wounded also about 5 thousand.

Karabakh armed forces have also destroyed 368 tanks and armored vehicles, 4 Smerch and Uragan multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), 3 TOS-1A MLRS, as well as 124 UAVs, 14 helicopters and 17 warplanes.

According to the defense ministries of Armenia and Artsakh, during the repulsion of the aggression more than 220 Armenian servicemen have been killed and, several hundred wounded. As a result of military crimes committed by Azerbaijan, 21 civilians were killed in Nagorno-Karabakh and 82 were wounded. Martial law and full mobilization were declared in Artsakh and Armenia.
