YEREVAN, November 22. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan had a telephone conversation with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian on Saturday, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.
It said Le Drian congratulated Ayvazyan on his appointment as Foreign Minister and wished him success in this important mission.
Ayvazyan confirmed the readiness of the Armenian side to take joint steps for the further development of special relations and multidisciplinary cooperation between the two countries.
The two men were said to have exchanged views on the developments following the establishment of the ceasefire on November 9 in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Artsakh.
They spoke also about the humanitarian situation created in Artsakh as a result of the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression, and the measures taken to resolve it.
In this regard, Ayvazyan attached importance to the participation of the international community in the revival of normal life for the Artsakh Armenians.
The parties stressed also the priority of preserving the monuments of the Armenian historical and cultural heritage of Artsakh.
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and France attached importance to the cooperation of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries for the comprehensive consideration of the rights and interests of the Armenians of Artsakh.
