Armenian president to continue treatment for coronavirus at home

YEREVAN, January 18. /ARKA/. Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, who is undergoing treatment for coronavirus at a London hospital, will be discharged from the medical facility in the coming days, Sarkissian’s press service reported.

“The President will continue treatment at home under the supervision of doctors. He is prescribed bed rest. After recovering and receiving the appropriate permission from the doctors, the President will return to Armenia, and before that he will continue to work remotely,” the press office said.

On January 5, Sarkissian , who traveled to London for leg surgery, contracted a new type of coronavirus, and on January 13 he was hospitalized with a high fever and bilateral pneumonia.

Armenia has reported about 165,000 cases of COVID-19 and about 3,000 deaths from the disease so far.
