Subsidized sugar and rice bags are burned to be sold at a higher price

Public Prosecutor in the South, Judge Rahif Ramadan, opened an investigation on Saturday following reports from citizens that large quantities of empty bags of rice and sugar, which are subsidized by the Lebanese Economy Ministry, were burned behind Sarafand highway in southern Lebanon in order to sell their contents at a higher price in the market and achieve more profits.
