Piers Morgan has been especially incensed by the duchess, calling her a ‘fake virtue-signaling hypocrite’
Britons are besotted with rage over the news that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have had the temerity to offer to advise Buckingham Palace in its efforts to achieve a more diverse and inclusive workplace, Express reports.
An online Express article about the news of Meghan Markle and Harry’s desires to advise the Palace inspired commenters to express delight that Queen Elizabeth II snubbed the duchess and refused their offer.
“So kind of them to offer their inexperience,” one individual scoffed.
“I don’t blame the Queen,” said another reader over the monarch’s refusal to accept Meghan Markle’s desire to advise the Palace.
“She does not need advice from a very sensitive couple on how she had not seen colour, nationality, gender, etc in her reign.”
“She is Head of the Commonwealth for a reason,” the commenter said of the Queen’s wise decision to reject Meghan Markle’s efforts to advise the Palace. “She loves all people.”
A third individual was beside themselves with horror, saying of the offer to advise the Palace from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as Meghan Markle and Harry are called, “Gobsmacked at their arrogance and cheek. Are they looking for a way back into free everything?”
During the tense lead-up to the Sussexes’ bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Palace issued a statement indicating that Meghan Markle and Harry would not be returning to working-royal life. The British public, it would seem, is keen to advise the couple to lie low indefinitely and not to make waves as if they are still a part of the House of Windsor.
ET Online reports that according to royal expert Katie Nicholl, the Palace’s apparent decision to hire a “diversity czar” is one that has long been in the works.
“I think, of course, a lot of people will see this story and think that this is a reactive move; that this is the Palace wanting to take a positive [step] against these claims of racism within the institution,” she tells ET.
“But it has been pointed out to me that this search for a diversity czar, or a chief of diversity, at the palace, this is something they’ve been looking at for some time,” Nicholl said.
Another Briton who is keen to advise Meghan Markle to keep her trap shut where matters of the Palace is concerned is the unflappable British TV host Piers Morgan, The Sun reports.
Refusing to back down from his ongoing campaign to destroy the duchess, Morgan slammed her as a “fake virtue-signaling hypocrite.”
Morgan was especially critical of Oprah for apparently taking on faith the myriad claims the Sussexes made about the royal family and their staffers during the interview three weeks ago.
In his latest MailOnline column, he wrote: “Oprah Winfrey barely challenged a word her two friends said, leaving Americans and the woefully gullible US media to assume every sensational bombshell of self-serving tittle-tattle was fact when much of it wasn’t.
“It’s true that having once been friendly with her, I’ve been very critical of her in the past three years because I believe she’s a fake virtue-signalling hypocrite who ruthlessly exploits her royal titles for financial gain,” Morgan noted in his scathing analysis of Meghan’s character.
Morgan defended himself against accusations that his attacks on Markle are motivated by racism.
“I’ve been equally critical of Harry for his own ludicrous antics and he’s white,” he insisted.
The Mirror reports that Morgan, who has long been supportive of the Queen and Buckingham Palace, advised journalists covering Meghan Markle to push back against claims that criticizing her amounts to racism.
In a five-page article in the Mail on Sunday, the controversial media figure took another swipe at Meghan, reports Birmingham Live, declaring: “It appears that questioning Meghan’s fork-tongued ‘truth’ is now a racist hate crime.”
