William is said to deeply resent how Meghan accused his wife Kate of making her cry

As royal watchers presume that Kate Middleton has forgiven Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for their transgressions against the royal family, the big question remains whether Prince William, also known as the Duke of Cambridge, will forgive his sister in law and brother, the Daily Mail reports.

After shocking the world by announcing they were leaving senior royal life, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, also known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, further exacerbated the rift between them and Kate and William by giving a bombshell tell-all interview to Oprah Winfrey in March.

Following the recent funeral for Prince Philip, the Duke of Cambridge’s wife appeared to make peace with Prince Harry, who had flown to London solo given that Meghan Markle is in an advanced stage of pregnancy and had to remain in California on doctor’s orders.

According to the Daily Mail’s Dan Wooton, “The level of bitterness and rancour between the Duke of Cambridge and Duchess of Sussex has, if anything, been underplayed, I understand.”

Wills was angry about the behaviour of his sister-in-law for well over a year. And that was before she sat down with Oprah Winfrey to attack his beloved wife and then accuse his flesh and blood of racism and uncaring behaviour towards someone with mental health issues.

“While William is acutely conscious of his responsibilities as a future king to try and keep the family together, those close to him believe he will struggle to ever forgive Meghan for the damage she has unleashed,” Wooton wrote of the duke’s attitude toward Markle.

The journalist cited a senior royal insider who told him of the conflict between the dukes and duchesses, “Much has been made of the troubles between Kate and Meghan, and William and Harry – but perhaps the biggest strains now exist between William and [Markle].”

According to the Daily Star, the friction between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton dates back to the Duchess of Sussex’s habit of fuming at Kensington Palace staffers, which horrified the prim and proper Duchess of Cambridge.

Wooton cited an anonymous source who said that Kate “attempted to try and help Meghan understand the responsibilities of royal life, but her efforts were constantly misinterpreted.”

That friction reached a peak after Meghan named Kate during the heavily-publicized Oprah Winfrey interview as the person who named her cry in a disagreement over the flower-girl dresses she had chosen for her wedding to Prince Harry.

By pointing the finger right back at William’s wife as the one who made her cry, Meghan Markle knowingly put the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at a disadvantage, unable to defend themselves because of royal policies about not speaking to the press about such interpersonal skirmishes.

Wooton’s Buckingham Palace source noted, “Despite her growing confidence in public, Kate is a deeply sensitive woman who likes to stay behind-the-scenes as much as possible to support her family and the country.”

William, it has long been reported, long had doubts about his duke younger brother’s relationship with Meghan Markle. He advised Harry to take it slowly with her when their romance was first blossoming. Harry is said to have taken great offense to the admonition.

Express reports that royal commentator and author Petronella Wyatt has excoriated Meghan Markle and Harry for the duke and duchess’ claims during their Oprah interview that William and the rest of the Windsor clan treated them poorly during their time as a senior royal couple.

The expert claimed Kate and William had debunked Prince Harry’s claim that serving in the Royal Family was like being “trapped” in an institution. She also suggested the success and popularity of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was difficult for the Sussexes to come to terms with.

Meghan and Harry have ‘bitter pill’ to swallow after ‘insults’ thrown at Kate and William

In an article in The Sun, Wyatt slammed Meghan and Harry, writing, “As the nation’s memory gropes backwards over the travails that have beset the Royal Family in the past year, it can comfort itself with one solar myth, one solid bond in the bank of our collective future. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, whose marriage we celebrated in the tumbling April sun ten years ago on Thursday, have turned up trumps.”

Wyatt continued, stating, “Meghan and Harry’s petty insults couldn’t hurt William and Kate, who are living proof public service is not a prison.” She went on to insist that the “triumph” of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has been a “bitter pill” for Markle and Harry to swallow.

Another royal commentator eager to slam Meghan Markle and Harry is Lady Colin Cambell, who while holding up William and Kate as the true paragons of virtue, said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex think they’re “God’s gift to humanity,” OK! Magazine reports.

Campbell added that Harry should not have been surprised at the icy responses he got from his family members when seeing them at his grandfather’s funeral, especially after “having kicked sand in people’s faces.”

“You cannot expect to treat people as if they’re dirt and then expect them to treat you as if you are something special,” she insisted, referring to the couple who cited the royal family’s lack of support as the reason they stepped back from their senior royal duties.
