Some 37 percent of consumers prefer domestic products in shopping, a report by the Trade Ministry has shown.
The report found that shoppers with higher awareness are more likely to buy domestic goods, with 42.2 percent of such consumers preferring the locally produced goods.
The study, carried out in 26 provinces among more than 2,000 people, also showed that consumers use shopping centers as their main venue for their purchases.
Some 36.9 percent of respondents suggested that that they prefer malls to meet their needs.
The main categories for impulsive shopping are health products and leisure activities while people decide what food and clothing products to buy before they go out for shopping, according to the report.
Some 35 percent of consumers use the internet and social media outlets for shopping and they mostly buy clothing products through those channels.
