YEREVAN, March 17. /ARKA/. In total, 52 cases of COVID-19 are currently registered in Armenia, Alina Nikoghosyan, the health ministry spokesperson, reported Monday night on her Facebook page. According to her, 12 cases (an interim study) were detected among quarantined people. These people had no symptoms. On Monday alone, 22 new cases of infection were confirmed (by the morning of March 16 in Armenia, 30 people were diagnosed with coronavirus).
The first case was confirmed on March 1. Among those infected with a new type of coronavirus are the citizens of Armenia who arrived from Iran and Italy, the people who came into contact with them, and also the citizen of Italy.
The government of Armenia declared yesterday a 30-day state of emergency to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
As of 18:00 on Monday, more than 173.5 thousand confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the world. Outside of China, nearly 92.5 thousand people fell ill in 153 countries of the world.
