YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 11, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said in both public and non-public meetings with the Russian President in Sochi that Armenia supports the position of the Russian Federation, ARMENPRESS reports the Prime Minister said in an interview with “Public TV”.
“Finally, as a result of the work in Sochi, a document was obtained with which everyone agrees,” he said.
According to him, a document was put on the table under which Armenia agreed to sign, and considers it useful. To the question whether the Russian proposal is still in circulation, Pashinyan answered that Russia should answer that question.
“We have said that this option is acceptable for us. This topic became public after the announcement made by the President of the Russian Federation in the “Valdai” club. Therefore, I am forwarding your question to the Russian Federation, let them answer publicly,” said Pashinyan.
Nikol Pashinyan also reaffirmed that Armenia continues to be an advocate of the peace treaty, but guarantees are needed that Azerbaijan will fulfill the obligations it assumes.
According to Pashinyan, it doesn’t matter whether Russia, the United Nations or another “important international player” will take that role, Armenia will be happy and ready to sign the treaty.
