YEREVAN, February 17. /ARKA/. Armenia’s National Weather Service has forecast heavy snowfall, in some areas – blizzards for the mountainous regions of Shirak, Lori, Tavush, Aragatsotn, Kotayk and Vayots Dzor on February 17.
In Shirak, Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Gegharkunik and the Ararat Valley, wind is to intensify with gusts of up to 25-30 meters per second, in Yerevan – to 20-25 meters per second.
The air temperature on February 18-21 will gradually decrease by 13-16 degrees. Rains and thunderstorms are expected in Yerevan on Wednesday, sleet from Thursday to Saturday, and no precipitation on Sunday.
Today in the capital the air in the daytime warmed up to 12-14 degrees Celsius, but on Thursday the thermometer will drop to 4-6 degrees above zero, and in the next three days it will fluctuate within 2-5 degrees Celsius. On Saturday night it will drop to 6-8 degrees below zero.
It will be colder on February 20 overnight in Shirak, where the air temperature will drop to 15-20 degrees below zero. It will also be cold in Lori, and in the Kotayk, Aragatsotn and Vayots Dzor mountains – 13-18 degrees below zero.
