YEREVAN, December 28. /ARKA/. Another four Armenian prisoners of war have been repatriated today with the mediation of Russia and the International Committee of the Red Cross, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan announced on his Facebook page today.
He said the relatives of the captives have already been informed about their return.
‘The prisoners of war are now under the supervision of doctors and will receive the necessary medical, moral and psychological assistance. The process of exchange of prisoners of war will continue,” Avinyan wrote.
Earlier, the commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, Lieutenant-General Rustam Muradov said that the official Baku confirmed the reports that 62 Armenians were captured in Khtsaberd (Hadrut region of Artsakh). Armenian MPs Nazeli Baghdasaryan and Sofia Hovsepyan provided Rustamov with the list of prisoners by name for conveying to the Azerbaijani side.
On December 14, 44 Armenian prisoners of war and other captivates were brought home by a Russian military plane from Azerbaijan and 12 Azerbaijani citizens were flown to Baku.
Armenia and Azerbaijan earlier agreed to “all for all” swap of POWs. The exact data on the number of Armenians captives or soldiers gone missing during the war in Artsakh is not known.
