YEREVAN, March 26. /ARKA/. The average gross monthly salary in Armenia in the first two months of 2020 grew by 10.4% from the same time span of 2020, according to the National Statistical Committee (NSC).
It said during the reporting period, the average gross salary amounted to 190,468 drams. At the same time, in February 2020, when compared with January 2020, the figure decreased by 0.6% to 189, 925 drams from 191,012 drams in January. In February 2020 compared to February 2019, it increased by 10.3% .
It is noteworthy that the average salary in the public sector during the reporting period increased more than in the private, although it could not overtake it in absolute figures.
So, in January-February 2020, compared with the same period in 2019, the average gross salary in the public sector increased by 12.1% to 163,238 drams. At the same time, in February compared with January 2020, it increased by 3.4%, and in February 2020 compared with February 2019, it increased by 12.1%.
In the private sector, in January-February 2020, compared to the same period in 2019, the average gross salary increased by 8.8% to 203,840 drams. In February, compared with January, it decreased by 2.1%, and in February 2020 compared with February 2019, it increased by 8.8%. ($1 – 495.43 dram).
