YEREVAN, March6. /ARKA/. Armenia’s wine export decreased by 10.3% in 2018 to 2.5 million liters, according to the Customs Service of the country. It said the customs value of the exported Armenian wine in 2018 was $9.4 million, down from $10.8 million in 2017. The bulk of export, about 79.6% or almost 2 million liters, went to Russia. It was 14% less than in 2017.
Export of ethyl alcohol with strength below 80% (brandy) decreased by 3.5% from 25.5 million liters (the customs value $207.3 million) to 24.6 million liters ($198.3 million).
According to the National Statistics Committee, brandy production in Armenia in 2018 increased by 2.5% to over 30.7 million liters, and wine production increased by 0.3% to about 8.9 million liters.
